“21st-century Mozart,” said Daniel Barenboim, referring to Tsotne Zedginidze, a young Georgian composer and pianist who has gained widespread recognition for his exceptional talents in both composition and performance. Born in 2009, Zedginidze has been hailed as a musical prodigy, creating sophisticated compositions from an early age and performing at several prestigious venues, including Wigmore Hall, Laeiszhalle, and the Verbier Festival. His debut recital at this venue in 2020 has recently been released as a recording by Deutsche Grammophon.
In the following video from 2020, you can watch Zedginidze performing his composition The Bells, dedicated to his mother, Irene Sulkhanishvili, who passed away when Tsotne was five years old.
