The New Year’s Eve concert marked the debut of Marin Alsop as principal guest conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra. For the occasion, the orchestra prepared a surprise for her. Concertmaster David Kim appeared in her dressing room with a box of surprises symbolic of the city.
