Fatma Said performs Brahms’ Lerchengesang, Op. 70 No. 2, in a version arranged for harp. This single is part of her upcoming album, Lieder, which explores the traditions of German art song. The choice of harp brings a distinctive character to Brahms’ music, offering an alternative to the original piano accompaniment.
The single is now available for streaming, and the whole album will be released on February 7.
OVERVIEW
Fatma Said is a soprano of Egyptian origin renowned for her artistry in opera and lieder. She studied at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, becoming the first Egyptian soprano to perform at La Scala. Her debut album, El Nour, earned international acclaim, including a Gramophone Classical Music Award. Known for her innovative interpretations, Said bridges Western classical traditions with Middle Eastern influences.

Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki’s upcoming album, Preludes, explores the diverse world of the prelude, aiming to highlight its broad possibilities. The album features works by composers from multiple eras, including Bach, Messiaen, Rachmaninoff, Górecki, and Chopin, who redefined the genre with his iconic 24 Preludes, Op. 28.
The full album will be available digitally, on CD, and vinyl on March 14, 2025.
OVERVIEW
Jan Lisiecki is a Canadian pianist recognized for his refined technique and mature interpretations. Born in Calgary in 1995 to Polish parents, he began piano lessons at five and made his concerto debut at nine. By age 15, Lisiecki signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, releasing his first album at 16. He has since performed with esteemed orchestras and conductors worldwide, including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Claudio Abbado. His recordings have garnered accolades such as the JUNO and ECHO Klassik awards. Beyond his musical career, Lisiecki was appointed UNICEF Ambassador to Canada in 2012.
