STILE ANTICO SINGS EXULTATE DEO BY PALESTINA
In this video, Stile Antico presents a selection from their upcoming album The Golden Renaissance: Palestrina, part of the critically acclaimed The Golden Renaissance trilogy, celebrating the 500th anniversary of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. The album, set to be released on January 17, features Palestrina’s famous Missa Papae Marcelli, the mass-setting in which he introduced a new style of polyphony. Interspersed within the mass are motets, including his renowned Sicut cervus.

OVERVIEW
Stile Antico is a London-based vocal ensemble known for its performances of renaissance polyphony. Comprised of twelve members, the group performs without a conductor, drawing on a collaborative approach to create fresh and expressive renditions of early music. Stile Antico has appeared at major venues such as Wigmore Hall, the BBC Proms, and the Concertgebouw and has toured extensively in Europe, North America, and Asia.

In addition to its concert work, Stile Antico has earned acclaim for its recordings, receiving multiple Grammy nominations and prestigious awards. The group is committed to engaging with audiences through educational initiatives, including courses and collaborations with young singers.

MATHILDE CALDERINI PLAYS POULENC’S SONATE POUR FLUTE ET PIANO, FP 164: III. PRESTO GIOCOSO (WITH AURELE MARTHAN, PIANO)
Mathilde Calderini performs the third movement of Poulenc’s Sonata for Flute and Piano, which is featured on her latest album with pianist Aurèle Marthan. The work, commissioned in 1957 by American philanthropist Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge, is celebrated as one of the most exquisite pieces written for flute and piano. The album highlights music composed by or inspired by women, showcasing works by Chaminade, Bonis, Arrieu, and Lise Borel, alongside selections by Debussy and Poulenc.

OVERVIEW
Mathilde Calderini is a French flutist who holds the position of Principal Flute at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France since 2020. She is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and has won awards at the Kobe International Flute Competition and the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition.
She is also active in chamber music and has performed as a soloist with several major orchestras, collaborating with prominent artists in recital and ensemble settings.
