Fanny Robilliard appointed First Concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra

French violinist Fanny Robilliard has been appointed First Concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, joining current First Concertmaster Malin Broman in the orchestra’s leadership team.

The appointment fills a key artistic position that had remained vacant for several years. Announcing the news, Orchestra Manager Josef Beltzikoff described the recruitment as “an important and very welcome step forward” for the organisation.

Robilliard brings extensive international experience as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster. After completing her studies in France, she continued her training in Munich and Berlin, where she joined the prestigious Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and completed a Konzertexam degree.

A frequent guest concertmaster, she has led orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Orchestre National de Lille and the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire. She has also appeared as a guest musician with the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Berlin Philharmonic.

Alongside her orchestral career, Robilliard has established herself as an active chamber musician. She spent six years as a member of Trio Karenine, performing at venues including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Frick Collection and the Concertgebouw, while collaborating with members of leading ensembles such as the Belcea Quartet, the Ébène Quartet and the Doric Quartet.

She is also the founder of the Coups de Foudre chamber music festival in France’s Champagne region.

Widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading orchestras, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra performs a broad repertoire ranging from the classical canon to contemporary music and regularly collaborates with internationally renowned conductors and soloists.

Robilliard performs on a 1627 violin by Nicolo Amati, on loan from the Foundation Culture et Musique.
