The Vienna State Opera launches its 2026–27 season under the open sky with Opern Air, a free gala concert bringing some of opera’s leading singers to Vienna’s Burggarten.
The star-studded line-up is headed by soprano Asmik Grigorian, tenors Piotr Beczała and Juan Diego Flórez, and baritone Ludovic Tézier. They will be joined by members of the Vienna State Opera ensemble, together with the company’s Orchestra and Chorus, under the baton of Marco Armiliato.
The programme will offer musical highlights drawn from the wide-ranging operatic repertoire of the Vienna State Opera’s coming season, turning the Burggarten into an open-air extension of the opera house for the beginning of the new season.
Among the ensemble members taking part are Jenni Hietala, Maria Nazarova, Ileana Tonca, Stephanie Maitland, Jana Marković, Attila Mokus, Daniel Jenz, Carlos Osuna, Marcus Pelz, Jusung Gabriel Park and Evgeny Solodovnikov.
Admission to the concert in Vienna is free. The performance will also be streamed live free of charge on the Vienna State Opera’s streaming platform, although viewers need to register to watch.
