Born in 2005 in São Paulo, Brazilian violinist Guido Sant’Anna gained international attention in 2022 as the first South American to win the Fritz Kreisler International Competition in Vienna. He has since performed across Europe, the United States, and Asia, earning praise for his expressive depth and musical maturity.
Sant’Anna has appeared with leading orchestras including the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Lucerne Festival Strings, Danish Philharmonic, Münchener Kammerorchester, Helsinki Philharmonic, Wiener Symphoniker, New Mexico Philharmonic, and the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, with which he maintains an ongoing collaboration.
As a recitalist, he has performed in South Korea, Germany, Italy, and the United States, with appearances at venues such as Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Alte Oper Frankfurt, and La Jolla Music Society. He is a recipient of the 2024 LOTTO-Förderpreis from the Rheingau Musik Festival and a fellow of Bayer Kultur’s stARTacademy from 2025.
A former prizewinner at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition, Sant’Anna studies at the Kronberg Academy under Mihaela Martin, supported by the Margareta and Steffen Rabus Patronage. He plays a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin from 1874, loaned by luthier Marcel Richters, and has been part of the KD SCHMID Fellowship Scheme since 2023.
