Anna Sułkowska-Migoń l Conductor

Born in Kraków, Polish conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń gained international recognition after winning First Prize at the La Maestra conducting competition in Paris in 2022. A champion of Polish composers, she has led major works such as Penderecki’s Credo at the Oregon Bach Festival and a commemorative program of Weinberg and Sikora for the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

She has conducted prominent ensembles including the Philadelphia Orchestra, DSO Berlin, Dresden Philharmonic, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, Warsaw Philharmonic, National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa), Orchestre National de Lille, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta Sinfónica del Vallés, and the Paris Mozart Orchestra. Collaborations with soloists such as Midori, James Ehnes, Pacho Flores, Alban Gerhardt, and Finghin Collins have further marked her international rise.

Sułkowska-Migoń is a recipient of the 2022–2024 Taki Alsop Conducting Award, and was awarded the Neeme Järvi Prize by a jury including Jaap van Zweden, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and Johannes Schlaefli at the Gstaad Conducting Academy. She has participated in conducting programs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Opera’s Hart Institute, and worked with leading conductors such as Marin Alsop, François-Xavier Roth, Klaus Mäkelä, and Stéphane Denève.

Originally trained as a violist, she studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and completed her conducting degree at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków.
